Cable Termination

<= Return to Module Layout

The cable now connecting the ACO to Oahu used to run from Hawaii to California before AT&T donated it to the ACO project.

An enormous Navy vessel called the Zeus, designed to install and repair cables, was used in February 2007 to cut the cable near Station ALOHA and move one end to our location, with a "proof module" attached. The proof module proved the viability of future observatory installations.
