Proposals

The currently established ALOHA Cabled Observatory (ACO) is the product of a proposal submitted to the National Science Foundation (NSF) in 2009. Key development of the ACO was provided by two proposals submitted in 2003. The ANZCAN - ALOHA Observatory Major Research Instrumentation proposal provided the infrastructure (power and two-way communication) for a real-time observatory at Station ALOHA. Meanwhile, the SENSORS: ALOHA Mooring Sensor Network and Adaptive Sampling proposal provided a demonstration of the scientific potential of combining adaptive sampling methods with a deep-ocean sensor network at Station ALOHA.
